Eagles back on track | Sabres celebrate comeback win

The EVB Eagles South Tyrol returned to winning ways in the European Women's Hockey League on Sunday. While the Sabres St. Pölten celebrated a comeback victory, Budapest Jegkorong Akademia and Tauron Metropolia Silesia both won narrowly.

The Sabres St. Pölten also won their second game on the Hungarian road trip - thanks to a comeback at MAC Budapest. The hosts led 2:0 after the first period, with Lena Artner proving to be the match-winner for the Lower Austrians. After equalising in the 44th minute, she scored the decisive goal in the shootout. The Sabres are in third place in the table.

After the defeat against the Highlanders, the EVB Eagles South Tyrol got back on the road to success. The team from Bolzano won 6:1 in Salzburg. The visitors took the lead after 79 seconds and after 28 minutes it was already 5:0. Justine Reyes and Eleonora Bonafini each scored two goals and provided three assists. The Eagles thus moved up to fourth place in the table.

Budapest Jegkorong Akademia celebrated their third win of the season on Sunday, as the hosts beat Lakers Kärnten 3:1. Budapest took the lead in the middle period, but the visitors equalised in the third period. A brace from Anna Torontali and Kata Schneider then decided the game in favour of the Hungarians.

A goal from Wiktoria Kedra (17th minute) was enough for Tauron Metropolia Silesia to win in Graz. Justyna Koszyk celebrated her first shutout of the season with 33 saves.
