Eagles extend winning streak with spectacular comeback

In the only Friday matchup of the European Women’s Hockey League, the EVB Eagles South Tyrol staged a stunning turnaround against HK PSRZ Bratislava. Trailing 0–3 in the 47th minute, the league leaders from Bolzano showed great character to tie the game and eventually claim victory in the shootout – their sixth straight win.

Bratislava opened the scoring early, taking the lead just three minutes in, and doubled it before the first intermission. In the third period, Hlinkova made it 3–0 for the Slovak side at 47 minutes. Nine minutes before the end of regulation, the visitors began their comeback: two power-play goals leveled the score, with Pierri netting the equalizer just 23 seconds from the final buzzer. In the shootout, Kaneppele sealed the road win. With their sixth consecutive victory, the South Tyroleans extended their lead atop the standings.
