EC KAC earns first preseason win

EC KAC has celebrated his first preseason win in the last game of its preparation after losing seven times in a row. The Carinthians earned a 3:2-win after shootout against league rival Medvescak Zagreb. Zagreb suffered its third defeat during preseason campaign. After a goalless opening frame, the Croatians had the better start in the second: their last year second best scorer Sondre Olden potted the 1:0 for the “bears”. KAC new arrival Nick Petersen tied the game up later in the second. About eight minutes to go in the last, Sébastien Sylvestre took the lead for Zagreb again. But Nick Petersen scored again the equalizer. The game went into shootout where again Petersen secured KAC’s first preseason win.

Innsbruck finishes preseason with shutout

HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie” has posted a shutout win against Straubing Tigers in its last preseason game. Innsbruck fobbed the DEL-side off with a clear 4:0-victory. It was the “sharks” fourth preseason win out of seven games. From the beginning, Innsbruck showed slight superiority and managed to score after eight minutes played. Andrew Clark potted the 1:0 for the “sharks”. A few moments later, Andrew Yogan made the second goal on a box play situation. Further, goalie Rene Swette showed awesome saves and secured a comfortable lead after the first 20 minutes. John Lammers increased Innsbruck’ lead per one timer late in the second frame. Yogan rounded off the result with his second goal late in the last.

VSV loses last friendly

EC Panaceo VSV has suffered a close defeat in its last preseason game five days before opening the new season in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. Without Corey Trivino and Philipp Wohlfart, Villach lost against HC Pustertal 1:2 after shootout. New arrival Patrick Spannring opened the score for the EBEL-side in the first period. The Austrians stayed more active in the second frame and defended their lead after 40 minutes. The AHL-side came out hard in the last and Teemu Virtala tied up the game. The duel went into shootout where the Italian side scored twice. Youngster Benjamin Lanzinger was the only scorer of the Austrian side.

Also Fehérvár loses his last friendly

Also Fehérvár AV19 has suffered a defeat in its last scrimmage. Fehérvár lost against reigning Hungarian champion and participant of Slovakian Extraliga MAC Újbuda 2:3.
