EC-KAC hosts Frisk Asker in the second CHL home game

After the 3:2 win in the opening game against Tappara Tampere (FIN) on Thursday, the EC-KAC hosts Frisk Asker in their second Champions Hockey League home game on Saturday. The Norwegian champion lost its CHL debut against Swiss side EHC Biel-Bienne 1:2, giving Klagenfurt the lead in group A.

On Thursday, the EC-KAC had a successful start into their Champions Hockey League campaign, snatching up a 3:2 home win against Finnish top-team Tappara Tampere. Further, Klagenfurt remain unbeaten in the last ten home games and the last three CHL home games too. The Austrians lead group A after the first round. Upcoming opponent Frisk Asker made a good CHL debut too but lost their opening and first ever game against EHC Biel-Bienne (CH) 1:2 in the end. In the preseason the Norwegian side got only one win, beating Sparta Sarpsborg 5:1. Moreover, the “tigers” lost two friendlies. The EC-KAC has the same roster available as on Thursday, only Niki Kraus und Lukas Haudum are missing.

Matthew Neal, forward EC-KAC: “We had a great start into the Champions Hockey League and had good performance overall in August. We are very solid and structured up to now, were we want to build on in the upcoming game. With Frisk Asker we face another strong team and will be successful again.”
