Four goals of Rok Kapel helped EC-KAC II to cruise past EC Bregenzerwald in Wednesday's lone Alps Hockey League game. With winning 8:1 in the end, the Carinthians, which scored on every powerplay occasion, snatched up their biggest win of the season and took revenge on the tight loss in the first season-meeting. The Vorarlberg side had to take the sixth consecutive defeat, after Tuesday’s hammering in Ljubljana.

In addition, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey replaced head coach Barry Smith with former HC Pustertal trainer Petri Mattila. The Italian side sits on seventh place trailing two points to the top-6 with four games left.

After Tuesday’s loss at reigning champion HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana, the EC Bregenzerwald had to take the second harsh defeat within 24 hours, as the EC-KAC II outclassed the Vorarlberg side 8:1. Rok Kapel, who had a five-point-night with four goals scored, gave the hosts a 2:0 lead after the first frame. After Christian Haidinger pulled one back on powerplay (30.), Klagenfurt got the preliminary decision with three unanswered till the last break, two on powerplay to remain perfect on personal advantage on the ice. With another goal on powerplay (51.) Rok Kapel scored his fourth of the night, while two more goals shorthanded rounded off the score and fastened EC-KAC II’s biggest season-win.
