After the clear 6-0 opening win on Sunday, the EC-KAC made no changes in the line-up for final two. HCB Südtirol Alperia had Domenico Alberga back in the line-up. The "foxes" started with a lot of energy this time and were rewarded for it: Lukas Haudum with the turnover, Dennis Robertson (8.) used another KAC player as a screen and successfully put a covered shot past Sebastian Dahm. It was the 13th goal of the season for the Canadian, Dahm had concede a goal after two consecutive shutouts. The first period continued with a lot of speed, before Klagenfurt could build up more and more pressure and equalized 29 seconds left in the first, as Manuel Geier (20.) got the home team on the scoreboard.

The KAC then took a powerplay into the second period - and the lead thanks to a skillful deflection of Matt Fraser (22./PP1). Later the "foxes" scored on the powerplay too: they came out of their own zone with a lot of speed, Gleason Fournier (29./PP1) combined with Angelo Miceli and lit the lamp. This was the first time in the current playoffs that the KAC had to concede a goal when shorthanded. Then Irving showed up with a high-class save, but had to concede another goal only a little later when Lukas Haudum (38.) fired a blueliner with Fraser again well positioned. But Bolzano managed to equalize 12 seconds before the second intermission, when Anthony Bardaro cut his way through to the net from the left and tucked the puck in. After video review, the goal, which was initially not given, was ruled good.

The third period started for the KAC with a four-minute powerplay - Luca Frigo received a 2+2 penalty for a check to the head - and there Lukas Haudum (44.) hammered a one-timer under the crossbar for another KAC lead. Haudum became the 14th player since the league was found to score a brace in a final game. The two teams continued to fight for every inch, however, and even after Johannes Bischofberger (55.) put the score at 5:3 with a strong shot, the visitors did not give up. Daniel Catenacci halved the deficit with 63 seconds to go - before Klagenfurt managed to hold on to the one-goal lead.
