The Canadian with an Austrian passport has signed a contract with the EC-KAC for at least two seasons. The striker will first of all get used to the European way of playing ice hockey in the farm team of the EC-KACs and should recommend himself via the Alps Hockey League for assignments in the first team. Daylon Groulx has spent the past three years in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). After two and a half seasons with the Owen Sound Attack, he moved to the Ottawa 67's in early 2020, becoming a teammate of Austria's draft hope Marco Rossi. In total, the physically robust winger scored 87 scorer points in 207 career games in the OHL (50 goals, 37 assists). His father, Austro-Canadian Wayne Groulx, played for the KAC in the 1993/94 season.

Oliver Pilloni, General Manager of EC-KAC: "Daylon Groulx is a physically well developed player who has enjoyed a solid all-round training. He gives our squad more depth, although we will certainly have to allow him a period of acclimatization, as he moves from junior to senior ice hockey as well as from the small North American ice rink to the big European one. We see him as a long-term investment and are pleased that he has chosen the EC-KAC".
