Head coach Dan Ceman can still count on the services of defender Stefan Bacher in his first season in Villach. Similarly, the contracts with the forwards Christof Wappis and Nico Brunner were extended for another campaign.

With Daniel Wachter (HC TWK Innsbruck "Die Haie") and Philipp Kreuzer (EC-KAC), two locals will also return to the "eagles". After his early years with VSV, Wachter went through the junior academy in Salzburg, made his debut for the "Red Bulls" in the former Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, before he played the last two seasons for Innsbruck (91 games, 33 points). Kreuzer returns home from league's rival Klagenfurt. For the "Rotjacken", the forward commutes between the first team and the farm team - where he was the best scorer and goal scorer of his team in the Alps Hockey League.

Sebastian Zauner and Julian Kornelli join the "eagles" from Germany. Born in Berchtesgaden, Zauner played in the junior team of Red Bull Salzburg from 2010 to 2015 and then switched to the DEL2 as a 21-year-old. He was active with the Dresdner Eislöwen for five seasons and played exactly 300 games in which he scored 65 points. The 23-year-old Kornelli spent the last two seasons in the DEL, where he competed for the Schwenninger Wild Wings, but was also loan to DEL2 side Ravensburg Towerstars.

Bratislava signs second goalie
With Samuel Baroš, iClinic Bratislava Capitals have signed their second goalie for the 20/21 season in the bet-at-home Ice Hockey League. The 26-year-old returns home to Slovakia after one season in Finland.

Baroš received his hockey skills at HC Slovan Bratislava before he played for Zvolen, Nove Zamky and Banska Bystrica - at the same time he also played in the national youth teams. The goalkeeper spent his last season in Mestis, Finland, with Kokkolan Hermes, achieving a GAA of 2.77 in 21 games.

"He is still a young and talented goalkeeper who is the perfect complement to the experienced Peter Hamerlík. In a challenging competition like the ICE, every team needs two good and equally strong goalkeepers. With the signing of Samuel Baroš, we have succeeded in doing so," said Dušan Pašek, General Manager of Bratislava.
