The EC Bregenzerwald and the HC Pustertal Wölfe signed new players. Cortina Hafro Hockey announced two contract extension. Both goalkeepers from last season will continue to play between the posts for the Italians in the coming season. HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana started successfully into the preseason. The 2019 AHL champion celebrated two test match wins against Hungarian clubs. In the internal AHL duel between the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, the guests from Salzburg prevailed.

Bregenzerwald with new signing I Departure and end of the careers at Feldkirch
The EC Bregenzerwald announced the engagement of Gregor Pilgram The 22-year-old played the last two years with the VEU Feldkirch. Before that, the defender had been active in Switzerland for several years. In addition, two players, Jonas Kutzer (19) and Julian Zwerger (23), extended their contracts.

At the VEU Feldkirch, however, the departure of Gregor Pilgram was not the only loss the Vorarlberg side had to report. With Fabian Scholz and the Hungarian Daniel Fekete two players ended their career. In addition, Benjamin Kyllönen is taking at least a temporary time-out from hockey.



Pustertal signs Englishman Stephen Lee

The former captain of the Nottingham Panthers, Stephen Lee, moved to the HC Pustertal Wölfe. Most recently the defender was active for The Guildford Flames Ice Hockey Club. In total, the 29-year-old played 628 games in the Elite Ice Hockey League. In addition to signing the British player, the South Tyrolean also announced that youth player Kevin Baumgartner will be part of the AHL squad in the coming season.



Cortina holds goalkeeper duo

Both goalkeepers of Cortina Hafro Hockey have extended their contract with the Italians by one year. Marco De Filippo, who has been under contract with Cortina since 2016, played 30 matches (92.2% - save percentage) in the past season. In his twelfth season with Cortina, Martino Valle Da Rin played 14 games (90.1 % - save percentage).



Ljubljana wins two test matches in Hungary I Juniors beat Kitzbühel

The start of the season on October 3rd is getting closer and closer, which is why the Presason is also gradually gaining momentum. HK SZ Olimpija won the first two test matches against Hungarian opponents. On Saturday (29.08.) the Alps Hockey League Champion of 2019 won 4:3 against MAC Budapest, on Sunday (30.08.) a 5:4 victory against DEAC Jégkorong followed.

The second Slovenian AHL representative HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice had to admit a 3:6 defeat against the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League side EC VSV in the first test match.

In the internal AHL duel between the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, the guests from Salzburg won with 4:2. The latest addition of Kitzbühel, Philipp Maurer was also part of the team. The 21-year-old Viennese moved from the Steel Wings Linz to Kitzbühel. The striker scored five goals for the Blackwings 1992 farm team last season.

Further test matches in the coming days
Between Tuesday, September 1st and Friday, September 4th, seven more test matches are scheduled. With the VEU Feldkirch, the EC-KAC II and the EHC Lustenau three more teams will start their preseason. In addition, the EC Bregenzerwald, the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice will be in action.
