This weekend, eight games are scheduled in the Alps Hockey League before the first International Break. Among others, HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice will face the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. League leader EK Die Zeller Eisbären will play against the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. In the only Sunday game the Rittner Buam SkyAlps face the EC Bregenzerwald.

With three defeats from their last five games, defending champion HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice are currently not in good form. Although the Slovenians are still in second place in the table, they have the same number of points as third-placed Vipiteno and fourth-placed Ritten. The EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel is tenth in the table and have lost their last two games. Most recently at home in the derby against league leader Zell am See, but only narrowly with 1:2/SO. The Tyroleans have only won one of their seven games away from home. Kitzbühel are therefore only thirteenth in the away table. Jesenice, on the other hand, have only lost one of eight games at home. Jesenice have won all seven home games against Kitzbühel in the Alps Hockey League so far. Overall, the Eagles have only won two of 14 AHL duels with the Slovenians.

League newcomer HK RST Pellet Celje have already worked their way up to twelfth place in the table and are therefore also ahead of the HC Meran/o Pircher, who, like Celje, have 15 points but are in thirteenth place due to their poorer goal difference. Celje was beaten 3:5 in Cortina on Thursday. Before that, however, the Slovenians celebrated two wins in a row. Merano has lost all of its last three games. On Thursday, they conceded a clear 1:8 home defeat against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The two teams already faced each other this season on September 28. In Merano, the home side won clearly with 5:0. Calder Anderson scored a brace. Goalkeeper Frederic Cloutier celebrated his only shutout of the season so far.

After a bad start to the season, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors are now in top form. As sixth in the table, they have won six of their last seven games. The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan have been in excellent form since the start of the season. On Thursday, they celebrated a clear 6:1 home win against Jesenice. The Broncos are in third place in the table with 30 points and already have an eight-point lead over the Juniors. In the first duel of the season, Vipiteno narrowly won 3:2 at home. It was the WSV's eighth win over the Juniors in the last ten duels.

Goaltender Hayden Hawkey has a save percentage of 92.2% (5th). The Steel Wings have conceded 45 goals so far. The two teams have yet to face each other this season. League leaders EK Die Zeller Eisbären will face 15th-placed HC Gherdeina valgardena.it on Saturday. Zell am See has won six of its last seven games and has a four-point lead over its closest rivals in the table. Gherdeina ended a three-game losing streak on Thursday with a 4-3/SO home win against Fassa. In the first duel of the season with the Polar Bears, the Furie were clearly beaten 1:9 at home. With Tomi Wilenius, the EKZ currently has the league's top scorer in its ranks (29 points). In addition, Nick Huard (23 points) and Daniel Ban (22 points) are two other players from the Polar Bears in the top 10 of the topscorer charts. Val Gardena's top scorer is Anthony DeLuca with 16 points.

Before the duel with the ECB, the Future Team, which is at the bottom of the table with nine points, has not won any of its last six games. The EHC Lustenau is ninth in the table and have won two of their last three games. On Thursday, they were narrowly beaten 5:6/OT away from home by Unterland. At home, the EHC won celebrated four wins from five games. The EHC Lustenau has won 17 of 18 AHL duels against the EC-KAC Future Team.

In the seventh and final game on Saturday, the SHC Fassa Falcons and Hockey Unterland Cavaliers will face each other. Fassa has been waiting for a win for six games. On Thursday against Gherdeina, they at least picked up their first point since October 12 in a 2:3/SO defeat. However, the Italians were still 2:1 in front until 27 seconds before the end of the third period and even had a powerplay. Unterland prevailed against Lustenau by 6:5/OT. It was the second win after overtime in a row for the South Tyroleans. With 22 points, the Cavaliers are seventh in the table, while the Falcons are 14th. In the two AHL duels so far, the home team won.

Ritten is fourth in the table, but is only four points behind league leader Zell am See. On Thursday, the Buam narrowly beat the Steel Wings 3:2 and celebrated their fourth win in a row. Ritten have always struggled against Bregenzerwald recently. The South Tyroleans won the last duel in November last year. Before that, however, the ECB celebrated three wins in a row.
