The Slovene Eric Pance of HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice was voted MVP of the 2016-17 Sky Alps Hockey League season by hockey journalists. In his first campaign with the steelers, Pance, who has also played some years for HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, became a go-to-player quickly. In the season’s first game he scored the debut goal in a home game against Gherdeina after only 43 seconds. In total the winger gained 32 goals and 20 assists in 45 games. This is why he got the most mentions in the voting and finally became MVP. Pance left Christian Borgatello and Anthony Nigro of this year’s finalists Rittner Buam and Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 behind.
