Daniel Welser ended his professional career after a stroke back in November. The seven times Erste Bank Eishockey League Champion already absolved his coaching license in summer and will celebrate his debut as head coach after 1.080 games as a pro. Welser will be supported by Martin Ulrich, who represented Austria Hockey Team for 228 times and collected experience in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) for eight seasons. Together the coaches nominated a promising squad consisting of the current league’s top-scorer and reputable national as well as international top players.

With Matthias Trattnig (AUT, RBS) and Jan Lattner (CZE, ZNO) two national experienced players are defending at the ALL STAR CUP. The six times Erste Bank EIshockey Liga Champion Trattnig celebrated already many milestones. But a nomination for a All Star Cup was still missing for him, as well as for Lattner. Two years ago these two players faced each other in an exciting final series, now they are playing together for the first time.

The forward lines are full of reputable imports. League newcomer Tyler Morley (CAN, MZA) is the scoring leader with 58 points so far. He will get supported by long-standing league cracks Tyler Spurgeon (CAN, HCI), Olivier Latendresse (CAN, AVS) and Chris D’Alvise (CAN, DEC). MacMillan Carruth (AVS, USA) and Patrik Nechvatal (HCI, CZE) are responsible for spectacular saves during the ALL STAR CUP.
