On the first weekend of the new win2day ICE Hockey League season, fans were offered a lot. Seven of the twelve matches were decided by a one-goal difference. Over 36,000 spectators came to the stadiums, almost eleven per cent more than at the start of last campaign.

After two rounds, league leaders HCB Südtirol Alperia and the Moser Medical Graz99ers have maximum points. In many ice rinks, there was excitement right up to the last second: seven of the twelve games were decided by a one-goal difference, with empty netters twice ensuring a victory with a two-goal lead.

Over 36,000 spectators flocked to the stadiums, almost eleven per cent more than last season. With 4,350 fans, the opening match between the spusu Vienna Capitals and the Moser Medical Graz99ers was the most-attended game on the first weekend. While the rematch of the final between EC-KAC and EC Red Bull Salzburg also broke the 4,000 mark, five other games attracted over 3,000 spectators.
