Excitement in the EWHL: The finalists will be determined

The semi-finals of the European Women's Hockey League are scheduled for this weekend. In the first and second leg, the total score of both games will be added together - the team with the better overall result will advance to the final. In the semi-finals, top seed HK PSRZ Bratislava will face Sabres St. Pölten. In addition, EVB Eagles South Tyrol and Aisulu Almaty will duel for a place in the final.

In the regular season, Bratislava won both duels against St. Pölten (3:2/OT, 5:1). In the quarter-finals, the Slovakians beat Budapest Jegkorong Akademia by a total score of 12:6. The Sabres also faced a team from Budapest and won their series against MAC Budapest 7:5.

South Tyrol will face Almaty in the second semi-final. In the regular season, the team from Bolzano narrowly won both times (1:0/SO, 2:0). South Tyrol narrowly escaped elimination in the quarter-finals: After losing 3:4 in the first leg against the KSV Highlanders, they forced overtime with a 4:3 win in the second leg. Justine Reyes scored the game-winner after four minutes in the overtime. Aisulu Almaty had much less trouble in the quarter-finals, winning 8:2 against Silesia.
