The spusu Vienna Capitals announced the first four new signings for the upcoming season on Friday. Among others, Radek Prokes, the top scorer of Znojmo, moved to Vienna. In addition, the contract extensions with eight players were communicated.

With 58 points Radek Prokes was the sixth best scorer of the win2day ICE Hockey League in the past season. In the upcoming season, the Czech will be hunting for points outside his home country for the first time. "After the great season in Znojmo, I was of course hoping that a top team in the ICE would take notice of me. When the Caps contacted me, I didn't have to think twice at all. The move to the spusu Vienna Capitals means a great step in my career. I want to use the opportunity to develop even more into a key player," said Prokes.



Pilloni, Kainz and Würschl also sign with the Caps

In addition to Radek Prokes, the Capitals also announced the signings of Yannik Pilloni, Lukas Kainz and Niklas Würschl. The 23-year-old Pilloni moves from Villach to Vienna. Last season, Pilloni was only able to play 28 games before an upper body injury slowed the forward down. The 26-year-old Kainz was active in Graz for the past four seasons. In the past season, the center scored 10 goals and 15 assists. The 22-year-old Würschl, who has both the Austrian and Swedish citizenship, spent the last four years with his hometown club EC-KAC. The defender spent his youth with Rögle BK in Sweden.

Eight players extend in Vienna
A total of eight players from last season will definitely continue to play for the Capitals in the upcoming season. In the defense, Alex Wall and Lukas Piff extended their expiring contracts. In the offense, the spusu Vienna Capitals also managed to keep key players. Niki Hartl, with 20 goals and 13 assists the team's best Austrian scorer and in the playoffs the Caps' top goal scorer (5 goals), will continue to play for the two-time champions next season, as will Vienna's youngsters Patrick Antal, Sascha Bauer and Armin Preiser.
