Fans voted for the team of the 2023/24 Regular Season

The fans of the win2day ICE Hockey League were asked to nominate their team for the 2023/24 Regular Season via the league's social media channels. In the end, three EC-KAC protagonists, two players of the Steinbach Black Wings Linz and one player each from the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg and the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV made it into the lineup.

Sebastian Dahm | Goaltender | EC-KAC
In the voting for Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Regular Season, Sebastian Dahm was only beaten by Steven Owre. For the fans of the win2day ICE Hockey League, the Dane was the best goaltender of the Regular Season. With a save percentage of 93.2%, Dahm has the best save percentage of all regular goalkeepers. The 36-year-old conceded just 47 goals in his fourth season in Klagenfurt in the Regular Season. The 2021 ICE champion even celebrated a shutout three times. On December 28 and December 30, he even kept a clean sheet in two consecutive games.

Paul Postma | Defenseman | EC-KAC
Regular season champion EC-KAC is represented in the defense by Paul Postma. Like Dahm, the 35-year-old Canadian is playing his fourth season with the KAC. With 37 points (9G | 28A) in 44 games, the right-shooter had his best Regular Season in Klagenfurt in terms of points. The maximum so far was 31 points last season. Postma had a six-game scoring streak twice. In the 12:0 home win against Asiago on January 23, the 2021 ICE champions even scored five points in one game (2G | 3A).

Logan Roe | defenseman | Steinbach Black Wings Linz
US-American Logan Roe is currently playing his second season with the Steinbach Black Wings Linz. With twelve goals this season, the 32-year-old is, together with Dylan MacPherson (VSV), the top goal scorer of the defensemen. Overall, Roe has 34 points and a +/- of +33, which puts him in third place in these statistic behind teammate Graham Knott and Steven Strong (KAC). Only in the 2019/20 season with the Florida Everblades (38 points | +36) Roe was personally more successful. The left-shooter scored in each of the last five regular-season games, which is also his longest scoring streak of the current season.

John Hughes | Forward | EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV
With 45 assists, John Hughes of the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV is the top assist provider in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The 36-year-old is already seven assists ahead of second-placed Janos Hari (AVS). In addition to the numerous assists, the native Canadian also scored 15 goals. With a total of 60 points, it was the best Regular Season for the forward since 2018/19, when Hughes scored 62 points for Salzburg. In total, the two-time ICE champion is already in his 14th season in the multinational league. Hughes is playing his sixth season in Villach, and he will continue to play for the "Eagles" in the coming season. His personal best game of the current campaign was a six-point game in the 7:3 home win against Bolzano.

Steven Owre | Forward | BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg
Steven Owre was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Regular Season by the trade journalists of the win2day ICE Hockey League and he was also nominated to the team of the Regular Season by the fans. The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg forward finished the Regular Season at the top of both the top scorer ranking (62 points) and the top goal scorer chart (31 goals). For the 27-year-old Canadian, who was crowned EIHL champion in Great Britain last season with the Belfast Giants, it was the best Regular Season in his professional career in terms of points.

Graham Knott | Forward | Steinbach Black Wings Linz
Graham Knott is the second Steinbach Black Wings Linz player to make it into the Regular Season lineup. The 27-year-old Canadian is, together with Steven Strong (KAC), the player with the best +/- statistics (+37). With 58 points (23G | 35A), Knott was also the fifth-best scorer in the Regular Season. In comparison, Knott "only" scored 38 points for the Black Wings last season. The forward's highlight game were four goals in the 5:2 win against Asiago on October 1.

Kirk Furey | Head Coach | EC-KAC
Kirk Furey of the EC-KAC was named head coach of the Regular Season. This is the 48-year-old's first season as head coach of the Klagenfurt team. With 33 wins in 48 Regular Season games, the first place in the standings and a total of 102 points, Furey, who played for the KAC for eight years, celebrated a perfect debut as head coach. In recent years, the Canadian has already coached the KAC's Future Team in the Alps Hockey League.
