Fassa earns home victory over Klagenfurt

In Tuesday's lone Alps Hockey League game, the Fassa Falcons celebrated a narrow 4:3 home victory over the EC-KAC Future Team. With three goals within four minutes, the Italians turned the match in their favor in the middle period. For the Carinthians it was the first defeat after three wins in a row.

In the first game of an exciting week in the Alps Hockey League, the Fassa Falcons and the EC-KAC Future Team faced each other. The home side took the lead already in the fourth minute through Daniel Tedesco, but Klagenfurt was the dominant team for most of the first period. Stefan Klassek scored 36 seconds before the siren to equalize. Although the guests had twice as many shots on goal (22:11), the score was 1:1 after 20 minutes. After the restart, the Carinthians got off to the better start, Valentin Hammerle scored to make it 1:2, but with three goals within four minutes (Felicetti, Schiavone, McParland), the Italians turned the game back in their favor. In an evenly matched game, the score was 4:2 after two periods. In the final period, Jannik Fröwis (56th) scored on the power play to bring Klagenfurt back within one, but the Falcons held on for the win. The home side managed to catch up with the middle of the table thanks to the 4:3 win, but remain in 15th place. After the seventh defeat in the eighth away game of the season, the KAC remains in sixth place.
