Slovakian defenceman Martin Stajnoch will join Hydro Fehérvár AV19 for the 2024/2025 season, having played in several leagues and for the Slovakian national team over the course of his career. He played four seasons in the KHL and is also very familiar with the win2day ICE Hockey League. The 33-year-old has played 185 ICE games for Steinbach Black Wings Linz and EC Red Bull Salzburg, with whom he also won the championship title two years ago.

"During a conversation with Viktor Szélig I realised that we think alike about hockey. I was impressed with his plans for the new season. The team has been among the top six teams in the league for a long time, and now our goal is to get the first place in the league. We will also participate in the CHL and play in the new arena. These are all positive things, which is why I decided to move to Fehérvár," said the new arrival.

Trio stays in Salzburg
EC Red Bull Salzburg announced the contract extensions of Peter Hochkofler, Ali Wukovits and Luca Auer. All three forwards have been with the reigning champions of the win2day ICE Hockey League for some time.

  • It is almost impossible to imagine Salzburg without Peter Hochkofler (29). The forward joined the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy at the age of 16 and has gradually made a name for himself ever since.
  • Ali Wukovits (27) has played a key role in the Red Bulls' team success in recent years. In the last championship season, the centre also played with his line mates in the playoffs, mainly against the opposition's top lines, benefiting from his good skating technique, commitment and strong stickhandling
  • Luca Auer (19) is a promise for the future. The forward, who grew up in Oberndorf near Salzburg, played his best season to date with 3 goals and 8 assists in his third and first full pro season with the Red Bulls.

Preiser and Wraneschitz extend in Vienna
The spusu Vienna Capitals were also able to reach an agreement with home-grown players Armin Preiser and Sebastian Wraneschitz on further co-operation. The 23-year-old Preiser, who has been part of the Capitals organisation without interruption since his childhood, extended his contract by two years. He has so far played 173 competitive games for the pro team of his home club. Wraneschitz (22) was also in the spusu Vienna Capitals youth programme, but has spent time in Finland, Sweden, Canada and the USA in the course of his career. The goaltender, who signed a new one-year contract, has appeared in 28 games for the Caps' pro team.
