Olivier Roy gave Hydro Fehérvár AV19 its second win in 24 hours with his second shutout of the season, as the Hungarians defeated HC Pustertal Wölfe 2-0 and moved back up to second place in the win2day ICE Hockey League standings.

The EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV and HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie also had a perfect weekend, winning on Friday too: The "Adler" again turned it around against the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg to take a deserved 2-1 win. The "Haie" only secured overtime late on, but Nick Albano then quickly made the decision. The two teams are tied on 62 points and are in fourth (VSV) and fifth (HCI) place respectively.

The 40th round of the win2day ICE Hockey League will be concluded on Sunday with the three remaining games. The clash between EC Red Bull Salzburg and EC-KAC will be broadcast live on PULS24 and streamed on Joyn from 05:05 pm.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 followed up its 4-2 win over Salzburg on Friday with a 2-0 victory against HC Pustertal Wölfe less than 24 hours later. Goalie Olivier Roy made 38 saves and recorded his second shutout of the season to secure a provisional "season sweep" over the South Tyroleans, which were beaten for the first time in the 2024 calendar year and under interim coach Kaspar Vuorinen. The Hungarians were extremely efficient on the offensive end: Josh Atkinson – once again used as a forward – scored to give them the lead, while Anze Kuralt (44.) took advantage of turnover to make it 2-0. Both players had also scored at least one goal the night before against Salzburg.

Villach and Innsbruck cheer a perfect weekend too
With EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV and HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie, two more teams in the win2day ICE Hockey League had a perfect weekend: The Carinthians won 2-1 against the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg in Andrew Desjardins' 1000th career game and thus improved to fourth place in the table. Once again, the "Adler" had to come back from a deficit, but Benjamin Lanzinger (37.) and Robert Sabolic (52./PP1) on powerplay turned the game around for the home side.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie, which won 4-3 after overtime against the spusu Vienna Capitals, are equal fifth on points in standing. It was the Tyroleans' third extra session in the last five games – all of which they have won. In Vienna, they twice let a lead slip away and then trailed 2-3 with 17 minutes to go. Shaw replacement Zach Magwood (57.) then scored for the first time since his return and set up overtime, where Nick Albano (61.) decided the game early on. It was Innsbruck's sixth road win in a row.
