Fehérvár jumps on top after clear-cut win

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 took the lead in the win2day ICE Hockey League on Saturday with a 10-2 victory over Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, as the Hungarians led already 9-0 after 40 minutes. HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie won 5-2 at home against the Moser Medical Graz99ers, with Gordon Green impressing with one goal and three assists, while the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg extended their point streak, beating HK SZ Olimpija 6-2.

The 22nd round of the win2day ICE Hockey League continues on Sunday with the three remaining games and the clash between Steinbach Black Wings Linz and spusu Vienna Capitals will be broadcast live on PULS24 (from 5:10 pm), while the other two games will be available on www.live.ice.hockey (PPV).

For the second time this season (September 16th and 17th), Hydro Fehérvár AV19 is at the top of the win2day ICE Hockey League. With a 10-2 victory over Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, the Hungarians displaced EC Red Bull Salzburg, which had the same number of points, into second place. It was only the fifth time that the 2022 runners-up had won by eight goals or more. Fehérvár dominated the game from the start, leading 4-0 after the first period and 9-0 after the second. David Kiss' team scored four goals on powerplay, Tim McGauley and Joshua Atkinson each scored a hat-trick. Captain Janos Hari (1G|5A) posted one goal and five assists.

Green shines in Innsbruck’s home win
Gordon Green led HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie to a clear 5-2 home win over the Moser Medical Graz99ers, as the 26-year-old US-American shone with four points, scoring the game-winning goal and dishing three assists. Innsbruck overturned a 1-2 deficit on the way to their tenth win of the season, four unanswered goals from the middle of the game get the "Sharks" on winning ways and back into seventh place in the table.

Pioneers extend point streak with Owre posting five-point game
Meanwhile, the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg have extended their point streak: In their 6-2 home win over HK SZ Olimpija, the team from Vorarlberg picked up points for the fifth time in a row. Two goals in the 14th minute of the game put the home team on course, as Steven Owre and Michael Pastujov scored within twelve second. The forward added two more goals and two assists over the course of the game. The Slovenians were beaten again after two wins in a row.
