Fehérvár signs Canadian Felix Girard

Forward Felix Girard signs with Hydro Fehérvár AV19. The center played his entire career in North America. Most of the time he was active in the American Hockey League. With his move to Fehérvár, he is looking for a new challenge outside the North American continent.

Felix Girard was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 4th round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He was captain and announced best defensive forward of the QMJHL team Baie-Comeau Drakkar, being the only player to win the Guy Carbonneau Trophy Twice. After spending three years with the Milwaukee Admirals, Girard was traded to the Colodaro Avalance and was assigned to San Antonio Rampage. During his professional career he played 240 American Hockey League games and scored a total of 142 points (45G/97A). The forward started the 2019/2020 season with the Adirondack Thunder in the ECHL and decided to join Hydro Fehérvár AV19 with the intention to kickstart his European career.

Besides, I have a few friends that play in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga and all of them had good things to say about the league. They desribed it as a quality and competitive league with good teams. I think I am a fast and smart player but it is also important for me to help my teammates score. I am looking forward to playing my first year in Europe”, the 25-year-old said.
