Patrick Newell has received numerous awards during his college years: In addition to being named Forward of the Year, he was selected to the All-Star team and was previously an NCAA champion with St. Cloud State and USHL champion with Indiana ICE. The now 26-year-old U.S. American received his first professional contract in the American Hockey League with the Hartford Wolf Pack. Last season, Newell played his first European season. The forward scored 59 points in 54 games for Stjernen Hockey (Norway).

Viktor Szélig, General Manager Fehérvár AV19: "We were looking for a player who is fast, skilled and a team player. We needed a winger who is suitable for combo games, is fast and can finish. It's not every day that a Hobey Baker Award finalist comes to us."
