The two teams met at eye level early in the game with both creating chances. However, it took 19 minutes until the fans at Vorarlberghalle saw the first goal. After both missed one power play each, Dylan Stanley opened the scoring for the hosts. This goal inspired Feldkirch, who had a two-game winning streak. They used their little dominance in the middle frame for some more goals. After 32 minutes Martin Mairitsch doubled the lead but it even became better for the VEU. Steven Birnstill and once again Stanley put their colours 4:0 up before the end of the period. The game continued this way and after an early Christoph Draschkowitz goal in the third, Olimpija goalie Robert Kristan was repalced by Tilen Spreitzer. Soon later Matic Kralj got the visitors on the scoreboard but the hosts had the final say, though. Smail Samardzic rounded off the scoring for a 6:1 Feldkirch win who climbed to fourth place.
