Feldkirch had a very nervous start into the derby with Lustenau creating some golden chances early but they were not able to take the lead. Then the hosts became stronger with every singe minute and halfway through the first Dustin Parks surprised Lustenau netminder Patrick Machreich for a 1:0 lead. Now it was a battle at eye level and once again Feldkirch found the back of the net when Christoph Draschkowitz scored on power play. Before the first intermission Marco Zorec pulled one back and Lustenau had a great chance to tie the game after the restart but Feldkirch killed 5 on 3 situation for one and a half minutes thanks to goalie Alex Caffi. In further consequence both sides wasted power play but late in the middle frame Draschkowitz got his second of the night with a man advantage. Both sides had only four players on the ice to start the third and Lustenau pressed hard. As a result Petr Vala halved the deficit for a 3:2 score but the home team answered with another pp marker as Diethard Winzig restored the two-goal lead. Now Lustenau pushed forward and Feldkirch tried to hit them on the break. Kevin Puschnik converted one of these for a 5:2 Feldkirch lead who got the first win in Master Round. On Saturday both teams meet again, this time in Lustenau. After the match Feldkich announced the signing of Chris Harand who returns to Feldkirch for the remainder of the season.
