Dylan Stanley (#51) of VEU Feldkirch, time 38:52, made contact with an opponent deemed as Kneeing, IIHF Rule 152. The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 – ‘Careless’ – insufficient attention or thought to avoid harm or error. Liable to happen as a consequence of, by intending to affect an opponent through a reactionary or accidental motion or the incident is deemed careless causing negligence.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the AHL PSC, player Dylan Stanley (#51) of VEU Feldkirch, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 152 – Kneeing.

Saturday night in Feldkirch; VEU Feldkirch forward (#51) Dylan Stanley of VEU Feldkirch, interfered with Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey Forward (#91) Marco Rosa, which was penalized by the game officials with a 2'+2' Kneeing.

Marco Rosa gained puck possession in the neutral zone and maintained his skating pattern which was into Asiago D'zone. Dylan Stanley entered from inside the Asiago D'zone in a skating pattern towards the neutral zone. It was taken into consideration with Stanley having a skating pattern to his right, it is a natural skating pattern to have the left leg extended out.

As the video shows and the reason for supplementary discipline is Stanley did not maintain his natural skating and body position. Instead, as Rosa approached, Stanley altered his skating pattern to his left and extended his left leg, creating a knee to knee contact. The knee to knee contact is deemed recklessly endangering and avoidable. There was no reported injury, however knee to knee contact is deemed dangerous with a high probability of injury.

Stanley must skate to avoid the use of the knee as the contact point and either avoid contact or use body to body contact.

Effective immediately, Dylan Stanley (#51) of VEU Feldkirch is suspended for 1 game.
