Féhérvar AV19 has captured the top position after first round in the new Erste Bank Eishockey Liga season. While defending champion HC Bolzano opened its season with a win against Moser Medical Graz 99ers, three more games went into overtime.
Féhérvar AV19 has captured the top position after first round in the new Erste Bank Eishockey Liga season. The Hungarians celebrated a clear 5:2 victory against KHL Medvescak Zagreb. István Sofron scored the first goal of the season. Féhérvar looked a way more offensive and added a second later in the first. Sondre Olden reduced the deficit for the Croatians early in the second. Soon later Daniel Kóger netted a brace and decided the game on an early stage. Arttu Luttinen rounded off the score for Fèhérvar.
HC Bolzano got off a great start in their home game against Moser Medical Graz99ers with Catenacci opening the scoring after only three minutes. In the middle frame the visitors turned the game around, though, with goals by Garbowsky and Yellow-Horn (power play). The 99ers missed some more chancen but for the third the hosts came out hard and struck back. Catenacci beat Höneckl to tie the game at two and a defelction by Mike Blunden restored Bolzano's lead. An empty-net goal by Findlay rounded off the scoring.
The EC-KAC has beat EC Red Bull Salzburg 4:2 on the road. It was the first win against Salzburg after six losses in the past six games. Last years vice champion took the lead after eleven minutes played, while Bobby Raymond scored on a power play situation. But the Carinthians responded quickly and new arrival Adam Comrie turned the game within less than two minutes. Raphael Herburger tied up the game for Salzburg early in the second. Further the KAC added two more goals and showed a great defensive performance to secure a clear win.
The Vienna Capitals have secured a 3:2 victory after shootout against EHC Black Wings Linz. More than 4.800 fans saw the first goal after less than four minutes. Brian Lebler potted the early lead for Linz. Nikolaus Hartl tied up the game later and Riley Holzapfel pulled one more for the guests right after opening the second frame. More or less at half point of the game Andreas Kristler balanced the game for the hosts. After a goalless last frame and overtime the game went into shootout where Chris DeSousa secured Vienna’s first win of the season.
The EC Panaceo VSV has succeeded a 4:3-win after overtime against HC Orli Znojmo. Villach had much more of the game in the first minutes but could not create big chances. About four minutes to go in the first the guest scored on a double power play situation. But the hosts responded quickly on a box play situation when Felix Maxa scored the equalizer. The next two frames ended up tied, while both teams added two more goals. The duel went into overtime where new arrival MacGregor Sharp decided the game for Villach.
The Dornbirn Bulldogs have won their season opener at HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie” after overtime 4:3. The Bulldogs started pretty well taking the early lead after less than three minutes played. Radek Cip potted a second goal for Dornbirn about one minute later. But the hosts managed to pick up the game: Two goals of Andrew Clark and Tyler Spurgeon turned the game for Innsbruck. Scott Timmis added the equalizer for Dornbirn late in the last. In the overtime Brodie Dupont secured the win for Dornbirn.
