The Alps Hockey League will see a rematch of last year's final between HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey tomorrow, Tuesday. This season it will be the only duel between the two teams. As is known, the Italians joined the win2day ICE Hockey League. In addition to Jesenice, six other AHL teams are in action in the coming days. Also in the past days there were numerous test games with AHL participation. Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey won a dramatic final series against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice with 3:2 last season. Now the Slovenians have the chance for a litte revenge in a test match. Both teams will face each other tomorrow, Tuesday, August 30st in Jesenice. On Wednesday, four games with AHL participation are scheduled. Among others, the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it challenges the HCB Südtirol Alperia. Furthermore, the EK Die Zeller Eisbären will meet the Deggendorfer SC away from home, the EC Bregenzerwald will play against the GCK Lions and in the AHL internal duel the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan will face the Rittner Buam. On Thursday, September 1st, another game will follow. The EHC Lustenau will play against EHC Chur.

Results of the past days
From Thursday, August 25th to Sunday, August 28th, a total of eleven test matches with AHL teams were scheduled. League newcomer Hockey Unterland Cavaliers conceded two defeats. First, they were as expected without a chance in the 2:7 defeat against Bolzano. In the second game they lost 3:5 to the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. The Broncos in turn conceded a 1:2 defeat in their second game at the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. For the Tyroleans it was the second win in the third test match.

The EC-KAC Future Team was successful twice with 3:2. First against the Hungarians Fehérvári Titánok, then after overtime against the Steinbach Steel Wings Linz. For the Upper Austrians it was already the second overtime defeat against the Future Team in this year's preseason.

There was one win and one loss against the EC Bad Tölz for the EK Die Zeller Eisbären. In game one they lost clearly with 2:5. The day after, the team from Salzburg responded with a clear 6:1 victory. The EHC Lustenau also recorded one win and one defeat. The Vorarlberg team first beat the Rittner Buam 4:3/OT. Then they lost to ESV Kaufbeuren with 1:4. Without a victory the past days ended for the EC Bregenzewald and the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. The ECB lost to the EHC Chur with 3:6 and Gherdeina lost tothe EHC Arosa clearly with 0:4.

New signings in Cortina and Gherdeina | Contract extension at Unterland
There was also a lot going on in the transfer market in the past few days. S.G. Cortina Hafro announced the signings of Greg DiTomaso and Jaako Kuusisto. The 26-year-old Canadian DiTomaso moved to Europe for the first time. Most recently, the defender was active with the South Carolina Stingrays (2G|7A) in the ECHL. Kuusisto last played in his home country Finland with Mestis side Kiekko-Vantaa (25 points).

In Gherdeina, the return of Simon Pitschieler was announced. The former national team player was active in Bolzano the past two seasons. Before that, he already spent four years with the "Furie".
