FTC-Telekom – EC-KAC
With victories in Fehérvár (6:3) and against the Pioneers (5:2), the “Red Jackets” have collected the maximum points this week and continue to lead the win2day ICE Hockey League standings. The Carinthians have gained at least one point in 21 of their last 23 games and, with 29 points on the road, are the league’s most successful away team. Ferencváros continue to exceed expectations – their latest highlight was a spectacular 5:4 comeback win in Villach after trailing 0:3. The Hungarians show weaknesses mainly in special teams, yet are known as a tough home opponent. Both previous season meetings went to KAC, most recently 3:2 in Klagenfurt.

EC Red Bull Salzburg – Moser Medical Graz99ers
Sixth hosts second as Salzburg meet Graz in a highlight matchup. The Red Bulls have won four straight games, stabilizing after a difficult period. The 99ers under head coach Dan Lacroix have also been in excellent form, suffering just one loss in their last eight outings. Both sides boast the league’s best defensive records: Graz have conceded 61 goals, Salzburg 64. In goal, David Kickert (94% save percentage, league-best) and Maxime Lagacé (92.2%) both deliver top performances. The Styrians won the first two season matchups, each by a three-goal margin.

Pioneers Vorarlberg – Olimpija Ljubljana
Both teams went pointless in their last appearances. The Pioneers were outmatched in Salzburg and Klagenfurt, while Ljubljana – currently third in the standings – lost at home to Pustertal on Friday. The Slovenians impress with strong powerplay efficiency (28.7%) and the league’s best offense (116 goals). Top scorer Nicolai Meyer has 40 points to his name. Olimpija has won both meetings this season, but the Pioneers have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to challenge top teams at home.

HC Falkensteiner Pustertal – Vienna Capitals
Pustertal returned from the international break with two straight wins and most recently celebrated an away victory in Ljubljana, keeping them firmly in the leading group. Vienna play in Bolzano on Saturday night and face Pustertal less than 24 hours later in their final game before Christmas. Both previous matchups were decided in overtime in favor of the South Tyroleans.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 – Steinbach Black Wings Linz
Both teams suffered setbacks in the race for the Top 10. Fehérvár lost three consecutive games and currently sit ninth, just one spot ahead of Upper Austria’s Linz, who have dropped their last two contests. The Hungarians’ main issue lies in offense: with 63 goals, they have the league’s second-weakest attack. Linz, meanwhile, have allowed 98 goals – the third-most in the league. Each of the season’s previous meetings was won by the home side – Linz claimed a dominant 7:1 victory at the end of October.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck – EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV
Bottom-ranked Innsbruck aim to finally grab a full three points after six winless games. The Sharks’ last victory came nearly a month ago. The Tyroleans did manage a 2:1 home win against VSV earlier in the season. Villach, too, are struggling, having lost six of their last seven games and slipping to eighth place in the standings. The “Blue and Whites” took the first season encounter between the teams.
