The defender spent the last 10 years mainly in Liiga and can look back on 493 games (28G / 78A). Now Salonen will leave his home country and move to Austria. The newcomer was under contract with JYP last season (1G/ 6A) and also wore the "A" on his chest the season before. Other stops: TPS and Tappara.

Statement Aleksi Salonen: "I had a long talk with head coach Johan Pennerborn. We talked about what kind of hockey should be played in Graz in the coming season with the 99ers. And it all sounded very good. I asked Ben Blood and Salzburg forward Jan-Mikael Järvinen, among others, about the league and Graz. Both told me that Graz is a very nice city and the organization is also very good. These consultations were very important for me in the decision. I have a big goal for the upcoming season: I definitely want to make the playoffs with Graz."
