Jesenice took the lead in the final series of the Alps Hockey League on Saturday and remains unbeaten in the ongoing playoffs. However, the guests from Italy showed a good performance just 48 hours after winning the seventh semifinal game against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. They even took the lead through Tommaso Alvera, but two goals from Zan Jezovsek turned the game in favor of the Slovenians.

On Tuesday - for the first time in the history of the Alps Hockey League - a final game will take place in Cortina, with the Italians looking to tie the series in front of their home crowd. In the last home game, head coach Giorgio De Bettin's team celebrated a narrow 2:1 overtime win against Jesenice. In the semi-final series against Salzburg, however, the Italian champions recently conceded two home defeats. Since the 0:8 loss in the Masterround against Salzburg at the beginning of February, the Slovenians presented themselves very strong, especially defensively. Head coach Gaber Glavic's team never conceded more than two goals in the 13 games that followed.
