Standings in the "best-of-seven" series: 3:1
The EC GRAND Immo VSV has the first match puck against the HK SZ Olimpija on Friday. The team from Villach prevailed after the opening defeat in the following three games and leads in the "best-of-seven" series with 3:1. In all four games of the series at least seven goals were always scored, including the last game on Tuesday, which the VSV won 5:2. Man of the match was Latvian Renars Krastenbergs with two goals and two assists. For the Olympic participant it was the first postseason goals for the "Eagles". Villach has not lost a series in which they led 3:1 since the season 2000/01. For Olimpija, it's their first playoff appearance.

Fri, 18.03.2022, 19:45: spusu Vienna Capitals - EC-KAC
Referees: BERNEKER, PIRAGIC, Durmis, Konc. | >> PULS 24 <<
Standings in the "best-of-seven" series 3:1
Also only one step away of the semifinals are the spusu Vienna Capitals. The Viennese narrowly prevailed with 3:2 in Klagenfurt on Tuesday to lead in the "best-of-seven" series with 3:1. Game five of the series against the EC-KAC will be on PULS 24 starting at 19:25. The Capitals have had a 3:1 lead in a playoff series seven times so far, in almost half of the cases, namely three times, they lost the fifth game afterwards. However, the Capitals have lost a series after an interim 3:1 lead only once before: in the 2010 semifinals against Linz, where they lost 3:4 after an interim 3:0 series lead. Should Vienna defeat the Carinthians and thus advance to the semifinals, there will be a title holder in the ICE for the first time since 2017 who does not come from Klagenfurt or Bolzano. On the KAC side, Jakob Holzer, Rok Tičar, Johannes Bischofberger and Steven Strong will be missing. A decision on the appearance of Clemens Unterweger and Stefan Geier, who have been struggling recently, will be made in the short term. Charles Dodero, who will miss the next four games due to a suspension, will not be available for the Capitals.
