First playoff goal for the EC-KAC

Thomas Vallant scored his first playoff goal for the EC-KAC on Sunday, as the defenseman put the third semifinal game out of reach for HC Pustertal Wölfe with his goal to make the final score 3-1 and thus ensured the 3-0 series lead. Vallant, who was also involved in the second goal of the Rotjacken with an assist, to became the win2day top performer.

In the 54th minute, Thomas Vallant fired a slap shot and slammed the puck into the net from the high slot to make it 3-1 for his EC-KAC. The 28-year-old defenseman, who has been back in the line-up of his hometown club since 2020, thus scored his first postseason goal for the "Rotjacken". It was his second playoff goal ever: in 2018, during a loan spell, he scored for Dornbirn.

With currently five points (1G|4A), Vallant, who has yet to miss a league game this season, is playing his best postseason in terms of points.
