In the Alps Hockey League semifinals Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey has the chance to qualify for the finals as first team. In front of their home crowd the Italian team is battling against Pustertal for the first ticket. The Rittner Buam and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice are playing for the first match-puck, the series is currently tied at 1:1.

Mo. 26.03.2018 Rittner Buam – HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice 20:00
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice succeeded to steal the home advantage right in the first game of the series. In the second game the acting champ of Ritten stroke back with a clear 4:0 victory and tied the best-of-five series. Ritten now aims to take the lead and to capture the match puck in front of the home crowd. For Jesenice it was the first defeat after a twelve games winning streak. The last time Jesenice didn’t score a single goal was back in Jannuary against the Eisbären. During the Playoffs 2018 Jesenice had the second best scoring efficiency with 12,09%, in the second game against Asiago none of 31 shots onto the goal passed Patrick Killeen. The goalie of Ritten is leading the save percentage in the AHL Playoffs with 94,3 %.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey captured a 2:0 series lead on the weekend. But it was a tough fight for Asiago, as they hat to go in overtime against Pustertal in the second game. Anthony Nigro found the decision in the 70th minute. Asiago has now the possibility to head up to the finals of Alps Hockey League already on Monday. Pustertal won one of the four duels with Asiago this season. Both teams took in playoffs in average more than 10 minutes penalties per game. Asiago has an outstanding powerplay in the postseason, they converted 50% (10/20) of their powerplay, Pustertal scored in 21,4%.
