The Alps Hockey League continues with two games on Saturday and three games on Sunday. The Hockey Unterland Cavaliers and KHL Sisak are in action twice, meeting for a doubleheader in Neumarkt. EK Die Zeller Eisbären and EC Bregenzerwald will also face each other on Saturday. Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel will play at S.G. Cortina Hafro on Sunday. However, due to the unavailability of the arena in Cortina, the game will take place in Toblach. One point will be enough for Kitzbühel to qualify for the playoffs. In the third game on Sunday, HC Gherdeina valgardena.it will face SIJ Acroni Jesenice.

EK Die Zeller Eisbären are currently in second place in the table, but have just as many points as leaders Ritten. As the South Tyroleans, who have qualified for the final of the IHL Series A, are not in action this weekend, Zell am See can take over the lead in the table on Saturday. The team from Pinzgau has celebrated two clear shutout victories against EC Bregenzerwald (5:0, 3:0) this season so far. Zell am See are currently on a three-game winning streak, while Bregenzerwald have only won one of their last six encounters. The team from Vorarlberg is in twelfth place in the table.

Doubleheader in Neumarkt
The Hockey Unterland Cavaliers and KHL Sisak meet for a doubleheader in Neumarkt. Both teams will face each other on Saturday and Sunday. While Unterland has not won any of its last four games and is in ninth place in the table, Sisak is in good form with an active winning streak of three games. On Thursday, the Croatians beat Celje 4:1 at home, while Unterland suffered a 1:5 defeat in Kitzbühel. The Cavaliers celebrated a narrow 5:4 victory after overtime in the first head-to-head meeting between the two teams.

One point is enough for Kitzbühel to qualify for the playoffs
The game between S.G. Cortina Hafro and Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel will not take place in Cortina on Sunday, but in Toblach. The reason for this is the unavailability of the Stadio Olimpico di Cortina. The Italians are currently in fifth place in the table with 56 points, the last place that still entitles them to participate in the Master Round. Their lead over sixth-placed Sterzing is four points. Kitzbühel is in fourth place directly ahead of Cortina and has an eight-point lead over Sterzing. The Tyroleans therefore only need one point on Sunday to secure their play-off ticket early, as the Broncos can still pick up a maximum of nine points and have lost the direct duel against Kitzbühel. The “Eagles” celebrated a clear 5:1 home win against Unterland on Thursday. In total, they have won two of their last five games. Cortina, on the other hand, have already played twice this week in the semi-finals of the IHL Serie A and reached the final with two clear victories against Val Gardena (5:0, 4:0). Game one of the best-of-3 final series against Ritten takes place on Saturday. This means that the Italians have to play two games within 24 hours.

HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and SIJ Acroni Jesenice will also face off on Sunday. The team at the bottom of the table has not won any of its last four games in all competitions. During the week, they suffered two clear defeats in the semi-finals of the IHL Serie A against Cortina. Jesenice slipped to third place in the table, eight points behind the top duo, albeit with three fewer games played. In the last two games, however, the 2023 AHL champions were narrowly beaten 2:3 each. On Thursday, they lost to Zell am See in the top game after leading 2:0 in the meantime, conceding three goals in the final period.
