Brace of Ganahl in narrow win of KAC
The EC-KAC had problems in the second duel of the season with the HK SZ Olimpija too. In the end, however, the reigning champions prevailed with 3:1 and climbed to the important sixth place in the standings. Man of the match was Manuel Ganahl. The captain of the KAC scored both the 2:1 and the 3:1 final score. However, it were the guests from Ljubljana who got off to the better start and took the lead in the 11th minute through Ziga Pance. The Klagenfurt team equalized in the 36th minute through Thomas Hundertpfund. It was not until the final period that the home side showed all their skills and deservedly prevailed in the end. With last season's Finals MVP Nick Petersen and Paul Postma, two long-term injured players also returned to the KAC lineup.

Alexander Rauchenwald scores for the first time since his return to the VSV

In a very close and balanced game between the spusu Vienna Capitals and the EC GRAND Immo VSV, the guests from Villach kept the upper hand with 2:1. The game-winner was scored by Alexander Rauchenwald in the 37th minute of the game. It was the first goal for the native of Villach since his return to Carinthia. The 28-year-old already played in the youth of the VSV and in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons for the first team of the "Eagles". The Capitals went into the final period with a 0:2, but promptly scored fort he first time thanks to the Dane Nicolai Meyer. However, it was not enough for more. Villach got the second win in a row and is seventh in the table. The Capitals, who have lost two of their last five games, are fourth in the table.

Graz continues winning run
It was already the fourth win in a row for the Moser Medical Graz99ers. At the HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie they won with 3:2. After 40 minutes the Styrians were already with 2:0 in front. However, the home side from Tyrol, who conceded their second defeat in a row, managed to equalize in the final period before the 99ers ensured the decision five minutes before the end of the game with a goal from Ben Blood. It was the fourth goal of the season for the 32-year-old American. The 99ers are still in ninth place in the standings, but are moving closer and closer to the top six. The "Sharks" are immediately ahead of Graz in eighth place.

Also in the second duel in the West, the away team kept the upper hand. The HC Tesla Orli Znojmo was the clear winner at the Dornbirn Bulldogs and won with 6:1. While the Czechs won their second game in a row, the Bulldogs suffered their 17th defeat from the last 18 games. On the side of the "Eagles" Sebastian Gorcik was the only player to score twice.

Clear victories for South Tyrolean teams
Both the HCB Südtirol Alperia and the HC Pustertal celebrated clear victories. The "Foxes" won at the bottom of the table Steinbach Black Wings Linz despite an intermediate 0:1 deficit in the end clearly with 5:1. Brett Findlay scored his season goals eleven and twelve and was the only player who scored twice. On the Black Wings' side, Brian Lebler scored his 16th goal of the season and remains the league's top scorer.

The HC Pustertal celebrated a clear victory too. The league newcomer defeated the third-placed Hydro Fehérvár AV19 in their own arena with 7:4. After the end of the second period the score was still 2:2, but then the "Wolves" turned up the heat and scored five goals in the final period alone. In the fourth and last duel of the season it was the second victory for the team from Bruneck.
