Six games are on the schedule in the Alps Hockey League on Thursday. WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan would qualify for the Playoffs as the eight and last team with a home-win against EC-KAC II. Besides EC Bregenzerwald, Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro and EK Zeller Eisbären are still in the Playoff race.

The "wild-geese" will try to end their bad run, they have lost all nine games in the year 2018. Neumarkt will settle on place 15 after this Alps Hockey League season. HC Pustertal Wolves are still in the fight for place 4 and home-advantage for the Quarterfinals. Bruneck needs six points out of the last two regular season games against the wild-geese (Thu/A) and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it (Sat/H). Besides VEU Feldkirch must stay without points in the Vorarlberg-derby against EC Bregenzerwald in Dornbirn on Saturday. The wolves have collected points in four consecutive games (three wins) and have won all (six) meetings with the wild-geese.

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice (3) welcomes HC Gherdeina valgardena.it (14) in their last regular season home-game on Thursday.The „Red Steelers“, who have won three consecutive games, will settle on place 3 after this regular Alps Hockey League season. HC Gherdeina valgardena.it on the other side is on place 14 and out of the Playoff race, but the Furies still have the chance to move up in the ranking to place 13 with road-wins in Jesenice and Bruneck. The Italians left the ice as the winner in the first season-meeting with the Slovenes at home 3:2. Besides the Furies have collected points from three consecutive games (two wins), which all have gone into an Overtime.

With Red Bull Hockey Juniors (7) and Leader Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 (1) two clubs, who have already qualified for the Playoffs, will face each other in Salzburg on Thursday. Both teams showed the same performance during the last five rounds (W/W/W/D/W). Both - the Austrians and the Italians - still need points to settle on the best possible place after the regular season: The Italians would fix place 1, the first pick right and home-advantage with three points in the Mozart City. The Red Bulls on the other side are still in the race for place 5, but they can fell in the ranking to place 8 as well. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors are without a win against the „Yellow-Reds“ from Asiago, who have won all (three) meetings.

Both - Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro (12.) and Rittner Buam (2.) - need victorys on Thursday: The Rittner Buam are still in the race for place 1, while Cortina has still a little chance to qualify for the Playoffs as the eight team. Both Italians need the points to reach their aims. The Champion has won six consecutive meetings with Cortina. But both teams had an up and down lately and left the ice as the winner in just one out of their last three games. While Cortina had problems to score and netted just five goals in the last 180 minutes, the Champion allowed 13 goals during that span.

WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan would qualify as the eight and last team for the Playoffs with a home-win against EC-KAC II on Thursday. The Broncos were convincing at home in the last weeks. The Italians have won three consecutive home-games and have scored 16 goals during that span. Besides Sterzing has won all (five) meetings with Klagenfurt, the last two clashes (in Klagenfurt) even 7:0 and 5:0. But watch out: EC-KAC, who will finish the Alps Hockey League on the last place, has won two out of their last four road-games. The Red Jackets won in Fassa on Tuesday (5:4 after Overtime).

HK SZ Olimpija (6) is the team of the hour. The Slovenes have won four consecutive games. The dragons have already qualified for the Playoffs, but they can still move up in the ranking to place 5 or fall down in the ranking (to place 7 or 8) in the last two regular season rounds. Ljubljana will play their last home-game of the regular season against EK Zeller Eisbären (10) on Thursday. The Dragons have won the only (season-)meeting in Pinzgau with 5:2. EK Zeller Eisbären has lost two consecutive games and has just a little chance to make the Playoffs. The Polar Bears must win in Ljubljana in regular time and must finish the regular season with the same number of points (63) as Sterzing and Bregenzerwald to reach the Top 8. Fredrik Widen left Zell am See and continues his career in Bad Nauheim (DEL2).
