The EC-KAC waived the redemption of the exit option anchored in the contractual agreement with the Canadian, so that the working paper automatically became valid for the upcoming 2023/24 season. Matt Fraser joined the EC-KAC in December 2020 and has since proven to be the KAC' highest-scoring player: With his 56 league game goals scored during this period, he clearly distanced his teammates, no other player in the red-white lineup scored more than 44 goals.

EC-KAC Head Coach Kirk Furey: "I'm really looking forward to working with Matt Fraser, he's a great guy with a lot of character and a player we see as a catalyst for our team's desired development. He acts with sincerity on the ice, goes to the areas where it hurts and completes tasks whose importance is underestimated. Matt Fraser has a real feel for goals, and he has proven that many times in the past. We as a coaching staff are confident that we can create an environment and use him in a way that will bring him back to his full potential."
