Klagenfurt keeps Mathias From
Mathias From will suit up for EC-KAC again in the 2025/26 season. The 27-year-old winger has signed a contract extension after an impressive debut year with the Red Jackets. Across 69 competitive games in the win2day ICE Hockey League and the Champions Hockey League, the Danish international recorded 54 points (23 goals, 31 assists), making him the most efficient goal scorer on the KAC roster (1.35 goals per 60 minutes of ice time).

Currently representing Denmark at the IIHF World Championship, From was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2016 and previously gained experience in the SHL, HockeyAllsvenskan, and DEL. After winning the Danish championship with Rungsted in spring 2024, he made the move to Klagenfurt—where he quickly established himself as a key piece in the team's offensive setup.

Luka Maver stays in Linz
Steinbach Black Wings Linz have also locked in a key contributor: Luka Maver, who was signed on short notice during last year's pre-season as a replacement for injured forward Emilio Romig, will remain with the team for the 2025/26 campaign.

The 27-year-old Slovenian made a strong impression, scoring 13 goals in the regular season—his best output since his college days. As the third-line center, Maver stood out both offensively and defensively. With his 1.91-meter frame, physical presence, and a +12 plus-minus rating, he was one of the most reliable players in the Linz lineup. Head Coach Philipp Lukas can continue to count on Maver as a dependable two-way forward.
