Eight games are scheduled in the Alps Hockey League between Thursday, December 23rd and Monday, December 28th. Before Christmas, there will be two top games between the EHC Lustenau and the Rittner Buam, as well as the rematch of last season's semi-final, between Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice.

The EK Die Zeller Eisbären could not win any of the past four games and already slipped to ninth place in the table. The HC Gherdeina valgardena.it has already been out of action for twelve days and is sixth in the table. This season, the two teams already dueled on September 18th. At that time, the "Polar Bears" kept the upper hand in Val Gardena with 3:2. Gherdeina is in excellent form, especially away from home, with eight wins out of the past ten games.

The first of two top games before Christmas will be played by the second in the table EHC Lustenau and the third in the table Rittner Buam. Both teams are separated by only one point. Both teams last were on the ice on December 11th. While the EHC lost against league leader Jesenice narrowly with 2:3-OT, the "Buam" were clearly victorious against Kitzbühel with 8:4. It was their fourth win from the past five games. In the first duel of the season between the two teams, "Ritten" clearly kept the upper hand with 7:3. It was their thirteenth win in the 16th AHL duel.

An absolute top clash just before Christmas will take place in the duel of Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey with HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. With 59 points from 24 games, Jesenice is currently at the top of the table. Asiago has 48 points from 22 games and is fourth in the table. Last season, this duel took place in the semifinals. In an even series Asiago won with 3:2. This season, there have already been two encounters. While Asiago won with 4:3 in the Continental Cup, Jesenice prevailed with 5:3 in the AHL.

The first game after Christmas will be played by the BEMER VEU Feldkirch and the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. In the table, it comes to the duel of the 16th (VEU) with the 14th (KEC). The "Eagles" from Kitzbühel are currently in a deep, with only one victory from the past seven games. Away they are already waiting for a win since October 9th. Feldkirch, on the other hand, won two of the past five games and is thus slightly on the upswing.

In the first season duel with the "Buam", however, they had no chance (4:0). For Ritten it will be the second game at Christmas time. Already on December 23rd they will meet Lustenau in the top match.

The EC Bregenzerwald is scheduled to return to the ice on December 26th after a long break. Their last game was already almost a month ago and took place on November 27th (4:5 OT vs. JES). All subsequent games had to be postponed due to medical precautions. The Vorarlberg team has not yet played against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it this season. Last season, the home team retained the upper hand in each case.

The SHC Fassa Falcons is currently in top form. The Italians were able to win all of the past five games. In the table, they thus come close to the Top-6. The "Falcons" had a duel with the Steel Wings Linz only on December 11th. In Linz, Fassa clearly kept the upper hand with 4:1. Thus, they won the seventh duel with the Upper Austrians.

The Vienna Capitals Silver and the HC Meran/o Pircher will face each other on Monday, December 28th. Between both teams it will be the first duel. The league newcomer from South Tyrol managed to win one of the past five games, just like the Capitals Silver (before the game against the Steel Wings Linz, on Wednesday, December 22nd).
