The win2day ICE Hockey League traditionally continues with a full round on Boxing Day. The HCB Südtirol Alperia, who are fifth in the table, will host the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV, who are sixth in the table, as part of the Trophies Night. The Trophy on Tour will also make a stop in Ljubljana and can be admired at the game between HK SZ Olimpija and EC-KAC. In addition, league leader Hydro Fehérvár AV19 faces the Moser Medical Graz99ers, second-placed Steinbach Black Wings Linz take on the HC TIWAG Innsbruck, the EC Red Bull Salzburg will play at the spusu Vienna Capitals and HC the Pustertal meet the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg. After the clear 1:7 home defeat against Pustertal on December 22, the EC Red Bull Salzburg will play at the spusu Vienna Capitals on Tuesday. The Viennese celebrated an important 2:1/SO away win in Innsbruck last Friday and are twelfth in the table, five points behind the tenth place. The Red Bulls are fourth and seven points behind leader Fehérvár. The Capitals have prevailed in both head-to-head season duels between so far. In the STEFFL Arena they even won 4:0, but overall VIC has a home weakness. They have only won two of 15 home games in regulation time.

League leader Hydro Fehérvár AV19 conceded a 2:3/OT defeat in Linz shortly before Christmas and thus lost for the first time in December. The Hungarians had previously celebrated six wins in a row. The Moser Medical Graz99ers lost 1:2 to Klagenfurt in the „Pack Derby“ and suffered their third defeat in the last four games. In thirteenth place in the table, the Styrians are eleven points behind the tenth place. The 99ers won 6:4 at home against Fehérvár this season, but suffered a clear 1:6 defeat away from home. With 108 goals, Fehérvár has the best offense in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Graz, on the other hand, have only scored 56 times and thus have by far the weakest offense in the league.

The Steinbach Black Wings Linz, second in the table, welcomes the HC TIWAG Innsbruck, eighth in the table. Linz won the first two duels of the season. The Upper Austrians are also currently in better form, with seven wins from their last ten games. Innsbruck have only won four of their last ten games, but are still only three points behind the sixth-placed Villach. Before Christmas, the Black Wings celebrated a 3:2/OT home win in the top game against league leader Fehérvár. It was the ninth home win in a row for BWL, who last lost at home on October 22nd against the KAC after overtime. The last time BWL failed to pick up a point at the LINZ AG Eisarena was against Pustertal on September 24. With 34 of a possible 45 home points, Linz is currently the ICE's strongest team at home together with Villach. Innsbruck have picked up just 18 out of a possible 45 points away from home and are eighth in the away table. Graham Knott is still the league's top scorer with 42 points. The Canadian has scored in all of his last eight games.

The EC-KAC will face the HK SZ Olimpija on Boxing Day. The Slovenians have only won two of their last five games and currently occupy the last pre-playoff spot in tenth place. Their lead over eleventh-placed Asiago is just four points. Klagenfurt is third in the table and clearly on course for the direct Playoff qualification. With four wins from their last five games, they are currently seven points behind leader Fehérvár. In the two season duels between Ljubljana and Klagenfurt so far, the home team won. However, with only ten out of a possible 39 home points, Olimpija is only in thirteenth and last place in the home table.

The HCB Südtirol Alperia will hold the last official celebration of the club's 90-year history against the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV in the Trophies Night. Before the start of the game, many great personalities from the club's history and the most important trophies from its 90-year history will be presented on the ice. The trophies will then be available to fans in the arena for any photos. In sporting terms, there is an important duel scheduled. Bolzano is currently in fifth place with 50 points, followed by Villach in sixth place with 47 points. The South Tyroleans are still in excellent form, with three wins in a row and 15 victories from their last 17 matches. Villach, on the other hand, have only won three of their last ten games. Before Christmas, the Eagles beat Asiago 6:3 at home. In the H2H with Bolzano, the Carinthians won one of two games this season. They won 4:1 at home in September. In Bolzano, the Foxes celebrated a 5:4/OT victory.
