On Sunday it comes for the Sharks immediately to the next Tirol derby. The HC Pustertal Wölfe will host them for the second time this season. The HCI has no good memories of the first encounter in Bruneck. The Wolves prevailed clearly with 8:3. In the two other direct season duels Innsbruck prevailed in each case. Pustertal celebrated a 3:0 home win against Graz on Friday and thus scored important points in the fight for the pre-playoffs. As ninth in the table, they have the same number of points as Graz in tenth place and are three points ahead of the eleventh place and Asiago. Innsbruck will be the first team to have the chance to at least qualify for the pre-playoffs on Sunday. For this they need one point in the Tyrol derby.

Referees: TRILAR, ZRNIC, Hribar, Mantovani. | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
On Friday the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV was not in action. Before that, the fifth in the table conceded three defeats in a row. The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg celebrated in Ljubljana already the second victory in a row on Friday. In addition, the 4:0 victory was the highest win of the season for the league newcomer and the first shutout in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Goaltender Alex Caffi was able to save all 33 shots on goal and was thus also named win2day's Top Performer of the 37th round. Against the VSV, the team from Feldkirch was still far away from a shutout. In both season duels they conceded clear defeats (2:5 & 5:8). In one of the two games, Anthony Luciani also scored a point. Sun, 08.01.2023, 17:30: Hydro Fehérvár AV19 - HCB Südtirol Alperia
Referees: REZEK, SIEGEL, Kis-Kiraly, Muzsik. | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
Only 48 hours after the 1:3 home defeat against Salzburg, last year's finalist Hydro Fehérvár AV19 welcomes the next top team with the HCB Südtirol Alperia. The second placed team from Bolzano won the top clash on Friday at home against Innsbruck clearly with 5:1 and is now only two points behind the top. For the South Tyroleans, it was already the sixth win in a row and the ninth success from the past ten games. Fehérvár, on the other hand, has not yet been successful in 2023 and has been waiting for a win for three games. The Hungarians slipped to the eighth place in the table. The gap to the top six is already six points. Bolzano is currently on the best way to make the direct playoff qualification. On Sunday, however, they can secure the Top-10 for the time being. If the Foxes get at least the same number of points as Pustertal, then a pre-playoff place is guaranteed.

Sun, 08.01.2023, 18:00: HK SZ Olimpija - spusu Vienna Capitals
Referees: FICHTNER, GROZNIK, Bärnthaler, Gatol-Schafranek. | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
The 38th round will be completed with the match HK SZ Olimpija against spusu Vienna Capitals. While the Slovenians could win only one of the past eleven games and are only in twelfth place in the table, the Capitals have always been able to score at least a point in the past seven games, five of them even winning. This was also the case on Friday, where the Austrian Capitals won 4:1 against the EC-KAC in front of a full house and thus collected important points in the fight for the Top-6. The gap to the sixth place is only four points, though with three games less played. With a win at the Slovenians, they could even reduce the gap to one point, as the KAC is free from play. So far, the two teams have faced each other seven times in the ICE Hockey League. Olimpija won four games. This season, the away team narrowly prevailed in both duels.
