spusu Vienna Capitals - EC-KAC
PULS 24 will broadcast the game between Vienna and the KAC live from 17:05 on New Year's Day. The game will also be available on JOYN and www.puls24.at/eishockey. The KAC travel to Vienna in outstanding form. The third-placed team in the table scored a point in all nine games in December and even won eight of them. Their current winning streak is five games. The Capitals most recently lost 3:5 in Ljubljana, before which they celebrated two brilliant victories against Fehérvár (3:0) and Bolzano (3:2). Vienna currently occupy ninth place in the table. The KAC have prevailed in both of the season's duels so far (5:3, 3:2).

EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV - Hydro Fehérvár AV19
After eleven wins in a row, Villach suffered their first defeat on Monday. The seventh-placed team in the table narrowly lost 2:3 at leaders Bolzano, meaning the Carinthians missed out on the longest internal winning streak since the league was founded. However, the “Eagles” have won all of their last six games at home. Opponents Fehérvár beat Graz 3:0 in front of their home crowd on Monday. It was one of two wins from the last five games for the second-placed team, who have as many points as leaders Bolzano. The two teams will face each other for the last time this season on Wednesday. So far, Fehérvár has had the upper hand in two out of three duels.

Steinbach Black Wings Linz - EC Red Bull Salzburg
Linz will face Salzburg for the third time this season. In the first meeting, the reigning champions clearly prevailed 5.2 at home, followed by a 3:2 home win for the Black Wings. The Upper Austrians were not playing on Monday. Before that, they suffered two defeats in a row. However, they have won nine of their last ten games at home. Salzburg, on the other hand, are currently struggling away from home. Although the sixth-placed team in the table won 3:2 in Graz on 26 December, they had previously suffered four consecutive away defeats in all competitions. RBS have won a total of three of their last five games. They are currently three points behind fourth-placed Linz in the table.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck - HCB Südtirol Alperia
In the Tyrolean derby, bottom-of-the-table Innsbruck hosts leaders Bolzano. The two teams are separated by 38 points. While HCB ended Villach's winning streak on Monday and celebrated its second win in a row, HCI suffered its fourth defeat in a row. The “Sharks” lost 1:3 in Salzburg and have been beaten by the “Foxes” in both of their duels so far this season. Most recently in front of a home crowd, however, only narrowly with 0:1/OT.

Moser Medical Graz99ers - Olimpija Ljubljana
Graz slipped to fifth place in the table on Monday. On New Year's Day, the Styrians will host eighth-placed Ljubljana. The Slovenians are already twelve points behind the important sixth place, but are on the upswing. On Monday, they celebrated a 5:3 home win against Vienna. It was their fourth win in a row and all of their successes have been achieved under new head coach Andrej Tavzelj. Before that, Olimpija conceded seven defeats in a row. Graz have won two of their last five games. The 99ers have won two of their three head-to-head meetings with Olimpija so far this season.

HC Pustertal - Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey
Pustertal and Asiago also face each other on New Year's Day. Important points are at stake in the battle for the pre-playoffs. Pustertal is currently in tenth place and has an eight-point lead over twelfth-placed Asiago. The visitors from Veneto lost 0:3 in Klagenfurt on Monday and conceded their tenth defeat in a row. Their last win dates back to November 27, at Pustertal of all places (3:2/OT). In the first duel of the season, the “Wolves” clearly had the upper hand in Asiago with 7:2. The South Tyroleans won 5:2 in Vorarlberg on Monday. It was one of two wins from the last five games.
