Game dates for intermediate round are fixed

The game dates for the intermediate round of the Alps Hockey League are fixed. The five teams already qualified for the playoffs will start the Master Round on Thursday, January 19th. The remaining ten teams will fight in two Qualification Round groups for the Pre-Playoffs, in which the last three quarterfinal tickets will be played out.

The best five teams of the Regular Season Phase 1 have already fixed their ticket for the quarterfinals. In the so-called Master Round they will play from Thursday, January 19th to Saturday, February 25th (one round-robin) for the pick and home right for the playoffs.

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice entered the Master Round as the winner of Regular Season Phase 1 as the top seeded team and with four bonus points, followed by league newcomer Hockey Unterland Cavaliers (3 bonus points), S.G. Cortina Hafro (2 bonus points), Rittner Buam SkyAlps (1 bonus point) and Red Bull Hockey Juniors (0 bonus points).

Qualification Round divided into two groups
Also on Thursday, January 19th, the Qualification Round will start. Divided into two groups with five teams each, the three best teams per group will qualify for the Pre-Playoffs, where the vacant three playoff spots will be played out in a "best-of-3" mode. (1st Qualification Round A - 3rd Qualification Round B; 2nd QRA - 2nd QRB; 3rd QRA - 1st QRB).

Also in the Qualification Round, one round-robin will be played and the last matchday will also be played on Saturday, February 25th. The bonus points in Qualification Round A, which is led by the EK Die Zeller Eisbären, were awarded in descending order of 6-3-2-0-0. In Qualification Round B, the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel as the top seeded team received five bonus points. The other teams start with 3-2-0-0 bonus points into the intermediate round.

Playoff opener on March 7 | All series "best-of-7
The playoff pick will follow after the pre-playoffs, which run from Tuesday, February 28th through Saturday, March 4th. The first playoff matchday is on March 7th. The champion of the seventh Alps Hockey League season will be determined on April 22th at the latest. A new feature is the length of the playoff series, which will feature a "best-of-7" format at all three levels.
