Pre-Playoffs Alps Hockey League, 2nd games:
Thu, 10.03.2022, 19:00: Steel Wings Linz - S.G. Cortina Hafro
Referees: BAJT, HUBER, Arlic, Bergant | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
Standings in the "best-of-3" series: 0:1

Cortina showed itself to be the more efficient team on Tuesday, celebrating a 4:1 home win despite significantly fewer shots on goal (25:37). With one goal and two assists, Enrico Larcher was the match-winner for the Italians. However, the Steel Wings can hope for a series equaliser, as they have won their last four home games. In October 2019, the Upper Austrians celebrated their first ever AHL victory with a home win over Cortina, but the following six duels - including all three previous season meetings - went to the Italians.

Thu, 10.03.2022, 19:30: EK Die Zeller Eisbären - Red Bull Hockey Juniors
Referees: LAZZERI, REZEK, Fleischmann, Snoj | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
Standings in the "best-of-3" series: 1:0

Salzburg and Zell am See delivered an open exchange of blows in game one of the pre-playoffs. First the Juniors took the lead three times, then the guests even had a two-goal advantage for a short time. In the end, captain Hubert Berger decided the game in favour of the polar bears, who can now book their quarterfinal ticket at home on Thursday. Zell am See won their last three home games, but things don't look quite as good in the direct AHL comparison against the Juniors. After winning the first home game in the Alps Hockey League in 2016, the other five games all went to the Red Bulls.

Thu, 10.03.2022, 19:30: EC Bregenzerwald - HC Gherdeina valgardena.it
Referees: HOLZER, MOSCHEN, Cristeli, Eisl | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
Standings in the "best-of-3" series: 0:1

EC Bregenzerwald welcomes HC Gherdeina for the second game of the "best-off-three" series in Dornbirn's Messestadion on Thursday evening. After the victory of the South Tyroleans in the first encounter, the Juurikkala team must draw level to avert the end of the season. The duel in Wolkenstein was initially very high-scoring, in the 28th minute Max Oberrauch scored the fifth goal on power play and the game-winner for the final score of 3:2. The Vorarlberg team now wants to force a deciding game, they won four of the six AHL home games against Gardena so far.

Thu, 10.03.2022, 20:00: Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan - SHC Fassa Falcons
Referees: RUETZ, SCHAUER, Moidl, Wimmler | >> PPV-LIVESTREAM <<
Standings in the "best-of-3" series: 1:0

The Fassa Falcons let a three-goal lead slip away against Sterzing on Tuesday and failed to get back on the winning track. After losing all their games in the Masterround, the Falcons have their backs to the wall in the pre-playoffs after Bryson Cianfrone's overtime goal yesterday. So far, the two teams have faced each other six times in the Alps Hockey League in Sterzing. After the Broncos initially celebrated five victories, Fassa won for the first time this season (4:2 on 23.11.2021). To force a decider in Canazei, head coach Marco Liberatore's team needs another away win.
