In front of an almost sold-out crowd, the visitors from Bruneck had the better start in the game and took the lead in the third minute through Zach Sill. It was the center's second goal of the series. On Sunday, the 35-year-old Canadian scored the 1:1. Both teams then had a few chances to score in the opening period, but the score remained 1:0 in favor of the visitors. That changed quickly in the second period, as Anze Kuralt equalized just 36 seconds after the restart. On Sunday, the 32-year-old Slovenian scored the 3:2/OT-game-winner. Fehérvár continued to dominatein the following minutes, with Pustertal hardly creating any scoring chances, but the guests took the lead again in the 33rd minute. David Morley scored after an impressive assist from Rick Schofield. It was the forward's second goal of the current postseason. As on Sunday, the South Tyroleans thus took a 2:1 lead.

The HCP's narrow lead remained until eight minutes before the end of the third period before Janos Hari equalized in a shorthanded situation. After a mistake in Pustertal's build-up game, the Hungarian captain had no opponent in front of him and skillfully overcame PUS goalkeeper Jacob Smith. Just four minutes before the end, the guests made life difficult for themselves. Dan Catenacci was given a game misconduct penalty for a cross-check, and Mickael Frycklund also had to go to the penalty box. Although Fehérvár couldn't capitalize on the double majority, they managed to score the much-celebrated winning goal in the five-on-four situation. There were only three seconds left on the clock when Timothy Campbell scored the 3:2 game winner. On Sunday the defender scored to make it 2:2. The “best-of-7” series continues with a double-header in Brunico on Thursday and Friday.

In the remaining three quarterfinal pairings, game two takes place on Tuesday. PULS 24 will broadcast the game BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg against EC-KAC live from 19:05. The other two matches are available in the PPV livestream on www.live.ice.hockey.
