HC Gherdeina valgardena.it is on the brink of its first Alps Hockey League championship. The “Furie” won 6–2 in Merano on Thursday to take a 3–0 lead in the best-of-seven series. The team from Wolkenstein now gets its first opportunity to clinch the title at home on Saturday. Head coach Marcel Skokan’s side has won its last four games at Pranives Arena.

Gherdeina’s offense has been dominant in the three final matchups so far, scoring 17 goals. Vlastimil Dostálek, who has recorded at least one point in each of his last six games, is the best playoff scorer of HCG with 18 points. Merano has won one of three road games against Gherdeina this season. To extend the final series, the “Eagles” now need another win. Otherwise, it could be only the second sweep in a best-of-seven final in league history. In 2024, Ritten swept Cortina 4–0, while in 2021 Ljubljana won the best-of-five final against Asiago 3–0.
