The HCB Südtirol Alperia has signed Justin Fazio for the 2021/22 season. The Italian-Canadian dual citizen joined the Ontario Hockey League at the age of 17 and quickly earned the position as a starting goalie with the Sarnia Strings. After finishing the 2017/18 season with a .918 save percentage in 51 games (best goalie in the OHL), he moved to USports to Queen University in 2018/19, where he had an excellent .936 save percentage in the Regular Season and .932 in the playoffs. These performances also saw him selected to the Championship All-Rookie Team and All-Star Team. Over the course of his last few years overseas, he also earned a call-up to the ECHL in a Reading Royals jersey and twice to the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers and Milwaukee Admirals.

During the summer of 2019, Fazio joined Bolzano and played eight games in his first season as a backup goalie with a .927 save percentage. Thanks to those convincing performances, he was confirmed for another year and got a .909 save percentage in 15 appearances. The 24-year-old, who also played for the Italian national team at the World Championship in Riga, now heads into his third season with the Foxes.
