Over 4,000 fans watched an entertaining game at the Merkur Eisstadion. The Moser Medical Graz99ers took the lead in the twelfth minute through Paul Huber. After a pass from Rok Tičar, the Styrian took advantage of a mistake in the Red Jackets' defence. The score stayed that way until the third period, when Marcus Vela made it 2:0. But just 41 seconds later, Red Jackets captain Thomas Hundertpfund broke the spell and the game went back and forth. After Jensen Aabo equalised (50'), Graz went ahead again through Bailey (53'). A goal from Simeon Schwinger then gave the visitors over time and a shootout - in which Vela was the match-winner with two converted attempts. Graz improved to fourth place with the 4:3 win.

Black Wings defeat Salzburg
Steinbach Black Wings Linz took revenge on EC Red Bull Salzburg for their defeat in the first game of the season. The team from Upper Austria set the tone in the first period and led 2-0 after goals from Knott (5th) and Collins (9th/PP). Shortly after the restart, Knott scored his second goal in front of 4,500 fans. The reigning champions got on the scoreboard through Nash Nienhuis on power play. The game became more heated at times in the final period. Mario Huber reduced the deficit to 2-3 with 29 seconds remaining, but the Linz team held on for their fifth win in a row.

Fehérvár turns the game around in Vienna
The spusu Vienna Capitals showed an appealing performance for long stretches in their home game against Hydro Fehérvár AV19. After a goalless first period, the home side took the lead thanks to a powerplay goal by Jeremy Gregoire (21st). It took until the 52nd minute for Tim Campbell to equalise. Just a minute and a half later, the defenceman scored again from distance to turn the game in the league leaders' favour. Hari (56') and Magosi (58') finally secured the 4:1 victory for the Hungarians.
