Daniel Viksten played exactly 70 league games for Färjestad BK in the 2021-22 season, with the former Swedish international contributing 22 goals and 26 assists to the championship. Before that, he also played for Örebro HK in the top national league. In nine SHL seasons, he played 480 games (132G|141A). In the 20-21 season, Viksten was the top scorer in the entire league.

"I played nine years in the highest Swedish league – it was time to try something new. I had the option to still play in the SHL, DEL, SM Liiga or with some other teams in Austria. Then coach Pennerborn called me and said that Graz was setting up something new and asked me if I wanted to be part of it. It all sounded perfect for me. My goal for next season is to bring my experience from the Swedish first league and become a leader. We also want to reach the playoffs," Viksten said in an initial statement.
