Salzburg wins close game in Ljubljana
Due to Salzburgs late arrival the game at Tivoli hall started with a 70 minute delay. Still that didn't seem to mind the red bulls who quickly established their dominance. It took the visitors some five minutes to take a deserving lead thanks to Alexander Pallestrang. Despite some chances and a power play Tilen Spreitzer wouldn't let any more pucks pass him before the period ended. As the teams returned Olimpija got some offence going. Their efforts were rewarded in 27th minute. Captain Ales Music found Tim Ograjensek and the youngster got the better of Bernhard Starkbaum. That was warning enough for the defending league champions. Still it took red bulls until the next power play to retake the lead. Only 14 seconds after John Hughes Raphael Herburger made it +2 for the bulls. Early in the final period the hosts got a power play of their own. The dragons couldn't capitalize on it. But a minute after Salzburg got complete Raphael Bussieres brought the dragons back within a goal. In their quest for equalizer the dragons missed out on one more man advantage. In 55th minute they did suceed with a goal by Ales Music. But their joy was shortlived. 182 seconds later Manuel Latusa put his side back into the driving seat. In the final minute Bojan Zajc pulled the goalie but it didn't help as Salzburg held on to a one goal lead until the final buzzer.
